10 Years Old!!

My baby boy turned 10 years old, how did this happen so quick? I keep telling Trent that he will always be my baby boy, even when he is goes to college, even when he gets married and even when he has children of his own...he just looks at me and smiles his cute smile. I love him so.
I am sure I will say this every year, but I really feel that it was just the other day that I was holding him in my arms. In the past 10 years, he has grown into such a sweet boy. I could not ask for a better son. Don't get me wrong he has his moments, but thankfully they are few and far between. He is a talker like his Dad and that can wear on me, but at the end of the day I love hearing his voice and the odd and random things that he comes up with.
One of my favorite pictures. I love his smile.
He loves his Davy Crocket hat.
Of course he hikes with a pop gun.
My boys!
Big muscles!
Love him!
 Fencing in France.
 Swimming in the Mediterranean Sea.
No caption needed...just awesome!
 My big boy is 10!
We moved to the shade because of Trent's sensitive eyes (ha ha).
Handsome guys!
He loves doing a silly pose.
 10!!!
 And then there's this one...
 Birthday boy!
Everyone eating up and playing games.
Happy 10th Birthday!
Trent has been wanting a marble run kit and he finally got it. He has been taking videos of the different runs he creates. Love it!
Another must have for his birthday. We sure weren't going to buy it for him, so thankfully he received some Target gift cards to purchase this Robo Dino who Trent has named Rex.

Every morning I wake up and I can't wait to see my boy. He wakes up happy on most days and I hope that continues through out his life. He loves life and that is a quality that is so important to get through the trials and tribulations of life. I look forward to watching Trent grow into a teenager...I think (Thankfully, I have a few more years). I am positive we will have our battles, but I know at the end of the day I can look at Trent and tell him I love him and I hope he smiles back and tells me the same.

My loves

Tim asked me last night if I thought Trent was having a good summer and I said, I hope so. We haven't done a whole lot, but I think he has enjoyed his chillin' as he calls it.  He went to summer camp at school for 3 weeks in the morning and he liked going and seeing his friends. He painted a cool skateboard deck one week and made a rocket during another week. Most afternoons he had swim practice, but for the last 3 weeks the swim team is on break. I try to plan a little outing each day, which sometimes is just errands (which he just loves, not). Cindy has been really great about doing things in the evenings with Trent, even if it is just playing Monopoly at her house for an hour. He has 2 more weeks until 5th grade starts and I hope to soak up every last minute with him. We might even make it to Chuck E Cheese, which will just make his day.
 Enjoying his orange soda.
Trent riding his skateboard for the first time.
Just being silly with these two cuties.

20 Year High School Reunion

The long anticipated evening finally arrived. The date had been set for 8 months and a lot of planning went into the event. At the beginning there was a "committee" but towards the end there were only a few of us that were actually doing the behind the scenes work...a pat on the back for me, Emily and Amy. It came down to the wire, but it all came together and it was a great event. Everyone seemed to have a great time and was so appreciative of all that we did to make it happen.

 And then there were 2.

Just having a great time with friends.

A Day at the Lake

We went to Pyramid Lake a few weekends ago and oh did we have a good time. Tim and Todd went out early to ensure that we would get the pontoon on the lake and not have to wait in a long line. The rest of us made our way out there around 10. It took us a few stops to pick a good location to drop anchor, but we finally found a spot and it was a great one.
Tim with Terra's assistance enjoyed the beer noodle pong...parents of the year award goes to me and Tim.  :)
Jeff, April, Madison and Madison's friend Haley joined us for the day.
Trent and Jake stayed in the water all day long.
 Terra loved the driver's seat.
 Happy as a clam.
 Cheers with Auntie.
Another great day on the lake.

Oh sweet Terra

Our little Terra is 21 months old, oh my where has the time gone?! I can't believe 2 is right around the corner. She is becoming much more verbal.  Just yesterday she pointed to a car and said, "red" and then when a zebra came on the screen she said, "zebra" clear as day. She has started to say please or in her words PUUUHHLLLEEEASSSE and usually with some sassiness. She doesn't say please always when asked, she definitely picks and chooses when to say it, a little stinker she is. She can be a stinker, but then there are times when she can be just so sweet. She recently started giving good hugs and really squeezes you.
Terra was thirsty...so why not drink from Freddy's licker.
We have since broken her of this habit.
Terra loves taking her baby for a walk.
Playing dress-up with her Doc McStuffins coat and headband...so cute.
Always wanting to be like her big brother Trent.
She went through a few day phase of wanting to lay on me, which is so out of character for her.  I enjoyed it while it lasted.

Our Doggy Freddy

We lost our beloved dog Freddy on May 28th he was 12 years old.
He hadn't been feeling well for a few days, but we thought it was just the heat and his arthritis. I had been checking on him through out the day and he just didn't seem himself. He wasn't moving much and hadn't eating. We came home from swim practice and I went out to see him...he was just laying in his hole panting...I knew that wasn't good. I brought his food over to him to coax him to eat, but he just didn't want to move. I called Tim to get home as soon as he could because we had to take Freddy to the vet. My brother Todd came over to see how Freddy was doing. We got Freddy out of his hole, but he wasn't moving much. We finally were able to get him into the house where he just laid down and was breathing so hard. I knew when we brought Freddy in and he went straight to his mat that this was really bad. Freddy was such an active dog and if he were feeling good would have been trying to find the cat. My heart was breaking, I knew we would have to put him to sleep. It was just happening so fast, we were not prepared for this. Tim took Freddy to the vet and it turns out that the x-ray showed that cancer had developed in his lungs. So sad. It was heartbreaking saying good bye to him. I just couldn't believe he wasn't coming back to his home.
Trent reading his Pokemon book to Freddy.
The little time Terra had with Freddy she loved him. She wasn't afraid of him and when he would get in her face she would just push him away. She loved his kisses.
Terra playing her music for her doggy.
Freddy you are missed so very much. I miss looking out the back window and seeing you laying in your hole or out on the lawn soaking up the sun. I miss your barking (didn't think I would ever say that) and your sloppy kisses. I am glad that you didn't suffer for too long, you were too good of a dog to be in pain. I am glad you passed away peacefully with your Dad by your side, he misses you so. We are so glad you were our doggy, we loved you so much and we will always remember you. Rest in peace my sweet dog and make sure you give Batman a sloppy kiss for us.
