Christmas

Christmas is my favorite time of year. I love it even more since we had Trent and each year it gets better and better. Experiencing Christmas with Trent and Tim is wonderful.  Trent has an amazing zest for life and it can be contagious.  I love his excitement for Christmas and he is quick to remind me that Christmas isn't about presents it's about the birth of Jesus.  I love that boy!
We celebrate Christmas with Tim's side on Christmas Eve.  It was definitely a full house at Tim's parents house and a bit loud and chaotic at times, but that's the fun of it.
A few pictures on Christmas Eve.
Trent wanted Tim to hold me...nutty!
Trent playing Santa and handing out the gifts.
 Family Fun!
Trent opening his present...a cool red razor scooter that sparks.
 Trying out the scooter.
 SPARKS!
After the fun evening we prepared for Santa's arrival and hurried to bed.
Christmas morning.  Trent might be the only kid in the world that had to be woken up to see what Santa brought.
Santa brought what Trent had asked for...a Wii, Lego Star Wars (Millennium Falcon) and chapter books (Hardy Boys set)
Trent was on Santa's nice list.
 Here he comes...
 So excited!
 Angry Bird!
Trent reading the note Santa left him.
Tim was so excited about the Hardy Boys series Trent got.  He read them when he was Trent's age.
After seeing all that Santa brought we got ready for church.

Finally a picture of me and Tim...Trent has to work on the angle.
And there wasn't even any mistletoe.
From church we headed up to Tehachapi to spend Christmas with my side of the family.

A quick trip to San Francisco

We had a whirlwind of a trip up to San Francisco last weekend.  We left our house at 12:30 on Friday afternoon, got up to San Francisco around 7:30 and were back on the road home Saturday afternoon around 2:30.  The reason for our trip was to be at the baptism of our good friends Eric and Jen's twin boys.  We were asked to be godparents to Sam and couldn't wait to be apart of the baptism.
When we arrived at Eric and Jen's on Friday evening all was quiet in their house.  The twins were fast asleep and Jen was putting Luca to bed.  Luca didn't know Trent was coming to visit, so when we popped our heads in to say goodnight to Luca, Luca was quite surprised and wasn't going to bed until he played with Trent.  The boys played beyblades and soon the twins woke up too.  So, in less than 30 minutes we had created completed chaos in the house.  I have to say I was happy the twins woke up because I got to cuddle with them.  They are just so cute.  After we had created enough havoc in their quiet house, we headed to the hotel to get a good night sleep.
The next morning, we had a delicious breakfast and then headed off to the baptism.  The baptism went really well.  The boys did so good (even Luca and Trent).

 Matteo's turn.
 Eric, Tim and Sam.
Tim trying to make Sam smile...what a cutie pie.
Tim and I with our godson Sam.
After the baptism we went back to house for lunch.  Jen's Mom made delicious homemade lasagna...so good!  The kids played beyblades, baseball and just had a great time playing.  Every baptism needs a pinata...kids love a pinata and all the candy that falls out of it.
Trent is very serious when it comes to getting candy out of a pinata.
 Luca's turn...he has a great swing.
 CANDY!
One last picture before we leave...Tim and Matteo.
Tim and I are so honored to be godparents to Sam.  We are looking forward to watching Luca, Sam and Matteo grow up and to be apart of their lives.

Joy to the World and Silent Night

On Sunday, Trent had his big performance playing Joy to the World and Silent Night on the piano.  He practiced these songs for over a month and did a fantastic job.  There were six children who performed in the Sunday School Talent Show; four played the piano and two played a clarinet and saxophone.  We have quite a talented group of Sunday Schoolers.
Here is Trent's big performance.
A few pictures before we leave for church.
All smiles before his performance and I think a little bit nervous.

Trent introducing himself and telling us what he is going to play and why.
I just wish the Santa hat wasn't so low on his head.
I want to see his cute face.
Trent watching the others perform.
Tim and I are just so proud of Trent.  Trent started playing the piano a little over a year ago and he has come along way since his first recital where he played Duel of Fates from Star Wars.
