Our Adventures in France...Day 13

It was our last full day in France and it was a free day of leisure. There were no organized tours and we could do whatever we wanted. The first thing we did was sleep in and get breakfast at our leisure. After breakfast we headed to the beach. We were splurging and paying 25 Euro per person to enter the beach club that was associated with the hotel. For 25 Euro you got a towel and a chaise lounge.  It was totally worth the money because the beach is so rocky, the public beach gets very crowded and the bathrooms were close by and clean.
 Beautiful!
The Mediterranean was a bit cold and the rocky bottom was a bit weird, but it was nice to float in.
 My boys!
 Trent wiping out.
 My cutie!
Not a bad view!
After a few hours at the beach we headed back to the hotel. Jeff, April, Scott, Fiona, Tim, me and Sandra were going to go to Monaco for the afternoon. It was so nice of Sandra to come along with us because I am not sure we would have made it there without her. We had to take the metro to the train station and then a bus. Without Sandra I don't think we would have figured out which train to take to even get to Monaco. Not speaking French is a huge disadvantage.
Before heading out to Monaco we took a few pictures.
The train took us right along the coast.
Monaco is only 10 miles from Italy and 8 miles from Nice. Monaco's population is 36,371 and is the second smallest and most densely populated country in the world.
 The Cathedral of Monaco.
Where many of the royal family members are laid to rest, including Grace Kelly.
The Palace.
Prince Albert is the current head of the state.  Prince Albert is the son of Grace Kelly and Prince Rainer III who ruled for 56 years.
Beautiful views from the palace.
 The Monte Carlo Casino.
We were so excited to go to the casino and see how fancy it was. It did not disappoint. It wasn't very crowded because it was the afternoon, but it was so beautiful inside.
There were very expensive cars parked in front of the casino.
We put 10 Euro into the slot machine and came away with 10 cents. Totally worth the 10 Euro to say we played in Monte Carlo.
There were very high end shops around the casino.
This is about as close as I got to Louis Vuitton.
I am so glad we went to Monaco. We weren't there for very long, just long enough to get a taste of how much money is there. Tim was drooling over the size of the yachts and I was drooling over the purses women were carrying. It was amazing in such a small area how expensive things were. Trent wanted us to bring back a souvenir and we thought a deck of cards would be good...but not for 25 Euro. That's insane!
While we went to Monaco, John and Cindy took the kids on a boat cruise around the coast of Nice.
The boat they were on for the cruise.
They saw beautiful homes of famous people who live along the coast.
Trent drinking his favorite drink...Orange soda.
After the day of seeing new things we all went to dinner. We ate at a delicious Italian restaurant.
Our last dinner in France.
Nutballs!
After a very memorable dinner...drama with Debbie's meal (no surprise there). We headed back to the hotel to finish up packing and to get a good night sleep because traveling home would be an adventure.
