Last days of Summer

We packed lots of fun things in before school started.
Trent went to his first Sunday School Camp and had a great time. The camp usually falls on Trent's birthday weekend, so he hasn't been able to go, but this year the timing worked out perfectly. Tim and Trent headed up on a Friday evening and spent the weekend outdoors doing fun activities with friends.

Tim taking a little time out to relax.
We got in one more beach day before school started. It was a beautiful day at the beach.
Terra and I having fun at Kidspace.
Having a sweet treat from Coldstone.
Playing dress-up.
Tim came across this motorized quad through his cycling group...best thing was it was free!! Terra loves it!
See ya!
Terra's hair is finally growing. We can even get it in a ponytail.
Cruising around the neighborhood on their scooters.
I had a fun 2 1/2 months with these two. This summer we did much more than we did last summer. Terra is now so much "easier" to take places...being potty trained, we don't have to be on too tight of a schedule and she can kind of go with the flow. So, I really made a point of doing all we could and I hope Trent and Terra had as much fun as I did. Trent's main goal of the summer was to chill and I am pretty sure he accomplished that almost every day!

Middle School Begins...

As if I wanted Trent to start middle school any sooner than necessary, this year his school decided to start a week earlier than usual. Ugh! On September 2nd, Trent started middle school and we were all a bit nervous (except Terra who was happy to drop Trent off at school and have me all to herself). This year the school required all middle school students to have an iPad, so that has become a big responsibility for him (and stressful for me hoping he doesn't lose or damage it). He also has a locker, which he loves, but also needs to be responsible about not forgetting his books for class or home.

 Ready for 6th grade
Opening his locker and, of course, Terra is squeezing herself in there.
So happy to have Mr. Atwater for his homeroom teacher.
Successful first day of middle school.
Trent is off to a good start in 6th grade and has straight A's so far. He is in Pre-Algebra and is taking Spanish, which he is loving. Can't wait to see all that he accomplishes this year.

Trent Turns 11!

We celebrated John's (65), Trent's (11) and my (39) birthday on a Sunday in late August...a very hot Sunday to be exact. It was a nice day keeping cool in the pool. We had some yummy bbq food from Dickey's and a delicious ice cream cake from 31 Flavors.
 Trent has the best expressions!
 A cool bow and arrow.
 Trying it out.
 Trent loved his motorized scooter.
He got the hang of it in no time and was zipping up and down the block.
On Trent's actually birthday we went to Red Robin for lunch. The staff sang Happy Birthday to him and he got a free sundae, he was one happy 11 year old.
 Happy Birthday to Trent!
 I love this boy!
Trent's first day as a 11 year old was also the first day with his new 11-12 swim group. He got to do a Birthday swim...he swam a 50 free while the group cheered for him.

After practice we had dinner at the bowling alley. We bowled and ate some yummy food.

Tried to get a cute picture of these two.
 Funny boy
To say turning 11 years old came too quickly would be an understatement. I can't believe Trent is 11!! Trent is and always has been such a great boy and he is now slowly (hopefully) becoming a great teenager...I love this boy so much and am so lucky to be his Mom. I pray he continues to be the best he can be and continues to achieve all he can. We love you Trent!
