Our Adventures in France...Day 9

Day 9 was an exciting day for some of us, and for others especially me it was a day of relaxation. I was really looking forward to a lazy Sunday in Paris. I definitely needed to rest.
While I spent the day relaxing in the hotel room, Tim, Trent, John, Debbie, Jeff and Zachary went to see the final stage of the Tour de France. Tim had been looking forward to this day ever since the trip was booked. It really is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be in France and then get to see a stage of the Tour de France. The group left the hotel around 9:30 a.m. and made their way to find the perfect spot to hang out for a few hours until the cyclists made their way into Paris.
Getting around by subway.
They found a great spot to watch the race on the Champs Elysees.

Tim all smiles about the great spot.
Zach and Jeff all decked out in Tour de France gear.
This is what Trent did for the hours they waited until the cyclists rode by.
 Trent getting some energy out.
He did find a friend and they played together for awhile.
Nutball!
Zach wearing the American flag as a cape.
Where the American flag is hanging is where the group was sitting.
 Representing the USA!
 Here they come!
Thomas Voeckler who won the King of the Mountain Title.
The caravan of cars follows closely behind the racers.
 Jens Voigt leading the race.
George Hincapie riding in his last Tour de France.
This was his 19th Tour de France...amazing!
Bradley Wiggins in the yellow leaders jersey. He is the first person from Great Britain to win the Tour de France.
 Jens Voigt...such determination.
 The peloton.
Mark Cavendish won the last stage, which he has now done 4 years in a row. He is now the most successful sprinter in Tour de France history winning a total of 23 stages.
After the race the teams did a lap around the Champs-Elysees.
Garmin!  DZ waving to the group.
Too bad he didn't come over and sign a few things.
The Garmin people liked the group chanting for them.
Peter Sagan was a good sport and came over and signed things. Peter is 22 years old and an upcoming star. He had a great tour at the Tour of California. At his first Tour de France he finished with 3 stage wins and the green jersey, also earning the "most combative" rider award on the mountainous Stage 14.
Peter came over to the group because they were chanting "SAGAN!"
Peter and Tim shaking hands.
Peter signing Zach's hat.  Very cool!
You can see Trent trying to have Peter sign his blue hat.
From the stories they told about seeing the Tour de France, they had a great day! To top off the great day with Peter Sagan coming over and signing things, was awesome.
Those who didn't go see the Tour de France had a great day exploring Paris. Cindy, April, Madison and our tour guide Sandra went to the Eiffel Tour and Montmartre, which is known as the artists section of Paris and is known for the Moulin Rouge. Scott and Fiona went to a museum and walked around the beautiful gardens in Paris. As for me, like I said before I had a wonderful time relaxing in the hotel room.
We all met up for dinner at an Italian restaurant and shared our stories from the day.
