Summer = Swimming in Grandma and Grandpa's Pool

There is nothing better than cooling off on a hot summer day in the pool.  Trent has swim practice three times a week, which he enjoys, but there is no goofing off there.  When he goes to Grandma and Grandpa's pool he can do all the goofing off and playing he wants.
I think Copper wishes he could go down the slide.
What kind of jump will he do?
 A karate jump.
Yes, that is Copper in the pool.  He drops his ball into the pool and then retrieves it...a typical Golden Retriever.

Ladybugs

Trent received a Ladybug Land kit for Christmas from a friend and we finally sent away for the ladybug larvae to get our Ladybug Land started. Once we received the larvae (about 15-20) we put them in their container along with the food that was sent with them and some water and then we let them do their thing for two weeks.

The little specks of black are the larvae and
what looks like sand is their food.
The ladybugs are ready to make their escape.
They could not get out of their container fast enough.
 Releasing the ladybugs.
Go ladybugs you are free!
We put craisins in their container for food.  I think they liked them.
We really enjoyed watching the larvae turn into ladybugs.  We hope the ladybugs found a nice home.

Last Day of 2nd Grade!

Oh boy where has the time gone...can Trent really be done with 2nd grade?? I am so not ready for 3rd grade, but I guess I have no choice. Trent had a great 2nd grade year. His teacher Miss Dinkins was a great teacher. She is such a caring and compassionate woman, which fits well with Trent's sensitive personality. Trent finished up the year getting all "O's" on his report card. He had three straight quarters with all outstanding marks. He also has kept his perfect bible memory verse streak going from 1st grade. Trent even improved on his penmanship, which was a struggle in the beginning of the year. Tim and I are so proud of Trent and what a great student he is.
On the last day of school, Miss Dinkins' class had their class party at a classmate's house. The kids had a great time playing games, running around like crazy kids, eating delicious food and celebrating their last day of 2nd grade.
The kids playing on the playset.  Trent loved climbing up the wall.

Miss Dinkins explaining a game to the kids.
They had to pass the hula hoop to one another without using their hands.
Next game, rolling the hula hoop as quick as you can to the next person.
 Go Trent!
Next game, passing the ball over and under.
Another game, trying to keep the ball between two people and make it across to the next group.
 Trent and Issac R.
This was a fun game. You had to roll a 6, then you dressed in a shirt, hat and gloves and tried to open the candy bar with a fork and knife without using your hands to open it up.  It was pretty hard, but they finally got the wrapper open and enjoyed some chocolate.

 Lunch time!

Spring Concert

This year Trent tried out and got a part in the Spring Concert. He was picked to play a Chorus Kid and he was so excited to one of the cast members. The cast had been practicing since March and all their work paid off because they did a great job in the play Samson: The Day God Brought Down the House.
 The Stars of the Show.
 One cute Chorus Kid!
Samson making his entrance and taking down a lion.
 Samson showing off his muscles.
 Delilah and Samson.
Sara Kate stole the show with her solo.
Samson finding his strength again and breaking down the pillars.
Last song.
All smiles after a great show.
