Reading!

Trent loves reading and I love that he loves reading.  He had just a few minutes before he needed to finish getting ready for school and he just plopped down on the couch and read a few pages out of Pinocchio.  I hope he always loves to read.

Some Museum Fun!

Last week, I tagged along with Trent's class to the National History Museum.  Tim and Trent had gone a few years ago to the museum, but I hadn't been in a very long time.  They have a new dinosaur exhibit, which was really neat.  My favorite was the gems and minerals exhibit. There are some beautiful gems on display in the special vault room.
The beginning of the day!  The kids were so excited!
Making our way through the museum.
Gems and Minerals Exhibit.  Trent's favorite mineral was Quartz and favorite gem was a Ruby (of course because it's red).
 Dinos!

Me and my boy (or should I say monkey)!
 The kids loved touching everything!
 That's one big polar bear.
There were interactive computers all over the museum.  The kids loved them!
The kids were getting hungry and restless.  Thankfully, it was lunch time.

Outstanding!

Trent received his 2nd quarter report card last week and he received all O's for Outstanding. He brought two of his grades from S to O.  Tim and I were so proud of Trent. I think Trent was proud of himself too.  For a reward for his outstanding report card Trent wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese.  Not a favorite of me and Tim's, but it was Trent's choice.  Trent had a great time celebrating his success at Chuck E Cheese.
On the bicycle ride.  The faster you pedal the higher you go.

Star Wars Episode 1 in 3D

Trent is a huge Star Wars fan and we finally went to see it today in 3D.  Thankfully, Trent recently got over his aversion to seeing movies in 3D because I knew he couldn't pass up seeing Star Wars on the big screen.  We took his cousin Jake along with us, who is becoming quite the Star Wars fan too.  I don't know much about Star Wars, but it was pretty cool seeing it in 3D.
They were so excited for the movie to start.
Trent was asking me about every minute how much longer.

A beautiful day at the Arboretum

I am not sure why, but I have never taken Trent to the Arboretum until the other day.  It's only a few miles from our house and a great place to explore and run around.  When Trent was little we would just go to the park and play, but maybe I should have gone to the Arboretum every once in awhile.
On Friday, we met our friends at the Arboretum and the kids had a great time feeding the ducks, geese, fish and turtles, running around, climbing on anything they could and playing in the sprinklers (only in So. California can you do that in February).
The kids throwing bread and tortillas to the animals.
 Love Trent's expression.
 They ate well.
 Big and mean geese.
 Hanging on the bamboo.
They climbed on anything they saw.

A beautiful view of the mountains.
 Playing with the sprinklers.
Shoes came off and they ran around in the sprinklers.
A pretty peacock keeping an eye on everything.

Love!

Trent and I have made a tradition of baking brownies for Valentine's Day.  Trent's favorite part of course is decorating them.  The more frosting and sprinkles the better.
 Ready to eat!
Trent woke up to a few Valentine treats from Daddy and Mommy.
Trent loves stuffed animals...he got a mini dragon pillow pet.
Later in the day, I helped out at Trent's class party.
The kids decorated bags to hold their treats.
Trent loved passing out his Valentine treats to his classmates.
My sweet boy!
