Fun-Filled Weekend

A few Fridays ago we headed out to Santa Monica (thankfully didn't hit too much traffic) and met up with Janet (Janet and Tim went to law school together) and her oldest son AJ. The last time I saw Janet was in Maui when we went with our law school friends after graduation and the last time Tim saw Janet was at her wedding at least 12 years ago.  Needless to say, it was great to see Janet and to meet AJ.
AJ couldn't wait to get into the water...they live in New York, so the warm weather in California was a nice change for them.
 On the pier.
We walked from the Santa Monica Pier to Venice to eat at a friend's restaurant...the walk was longer than expected...of course it was we listened to Tim.
We love Peter Sagan!!
On Saturday, Tim and Trent went up with John and some friends to see the Mt. Baldy stage of the Tour of California. We did this a few years ago and it was a lot of fun. They did the VIP experience, which is really the way to go. You couldn't tell from this picture of Trent, but on the way home from Santa Monica the night before he went to Urgent Care and was diagnosed with strep throat. The antibiotics kicked in pretty fast and he was able to enjoy the fun day.
Our favorite, Peter Sagan. The next day, at the final stage Peter ended up being the overall winner of the Tour of California by literally inches.
The Gang
Trent loved the carne asada tacos.
Father and Son Selfie...cute picture of them.
Another one of our favorite's is Jens Voigt. This is his first year of retirement and he is doing some commentating at the races. Tim was lucky enough to run into him in the restroom and chat a bit and then Trent got his autograph.
I guess Jens wanted to make sure he gave Trent's sharpie back to him.
On Sunday, we headed out to Palmdale to meet up with my Dad to celebrate his birthday, which was the following day. We met for lunch at Famous Dave's and had a great bbq lunch. My Dad recently got this cute little puppy named Miller. Terra, of course, loved him, Trent, of course, loved him from a distance.
He has the prettiest blue eyes.
And then there's this girl who loves the slide.
 She's a climber.
 And a monkey.
