A Dream Party for Boys!

On Sunday, Trent went to a birthday party where they had a game truck. Trent was so excited that he was going to get to play video games. I am pretty sure this is something Trent would want for his 9th birthday party.
 Chillin' and playin' video games.

Race Day!

Trent had his first Race Day in the Blue Group. He now gets to swim 25 yds of all four strokes and start from the blocks.
 Trent set to go!
 Butterfly!
All smiles after 25 yds of Butterfly.
 Backstroke
 Breaststroke.
Last race of the day...25 yds Freestyle.
This race was close. All the swimmers were racing to the wall.
Very close finish!
Trent did a great job and we are so proud of him and how much he has improved.

Camping

Tim and Trent made their way up to Henninger Flats on Saturday to camp over night. To them it was perfect weather for hiking and camping. For me it was perfect weather to stay home and relax.
They made it up to Henninger Flats in record time.

 Beautiful sunset.
Up early to head down the mountain.
They made it down the mountain in record time too. They were able to come home for a shower before Sunday School and church. I was glad they did because they usually stink after their camping trips.

Hiking

A few Sundays ago, Tim organized a hike up to Switzer Falls. Tim's brother Scott, his Dad John, Trent and his two friends would be enjoying an afternoon of hiking. They left after church, quickly got a bite to eat and then headed to the mountains. Trent could not have been more excited to go hiking with his friends.

I think Trent is a pretty lucky boy to have Tim as a Dad. Tim is so good about making time to take Trent and his friends on hikes. They have made some great memories during these Sunday afternoon hikes.

Levi's GranFondo

A few weeks ago, Tim went up north to participate for the second year in a row in Levi Leipheimer's GranFondo. Tim and Eric would be testing their skills once again on the 103 mile course through the "hills" of Santa Rosa. From what they say it's a pretty challenging course, but Tim and Eric like a challenge. After 9 grueling hours of being on the bike Tim finally finished and got to enjoy a few beers at the festival. While they were having a beer the man of the day walked past them and they were able to get a picture with him.

Apple Picking

On Saturday, my Dad took Trent and I apple picking at a local orchard in Tehachapi.  We had never been apple picking, so this was going to be a new adventure for us.  Trent loves apples, so he was very excited. My Dad wanted Fuji apples and this was the only orchard in town that was growing them, unfortunately we found out when we got there that the Fujis wouldn't be ready for two weeks.  The sweetest apples that they had ready were the Golden Delicious, so we set off to pick those.
 Trent picking his first apple.
My Dad kept telling Trent to really reach in the tree to get the apples, this was about as far as Trent would reach. He didn't want to get bit by something...nutty!

We came home with a 10 lb bag of yummy apples.

Big Cheeks!

This picture was taking of the baby last Friday.  I love her big cheeks!
I can't wait to hold her.

OC Fair

Another post that should have been in August.
Trent and I went to the OC Fair with some friends from school. It was another hot day in August, but it did seem a few degrees cooler in the OC. The kids had so much fun on the rides. Trent could have gone on the roller coaster all day long.

From San Francisco to HOT San Gabriel

I am catching up on downloading pictures from my phone to the computer...so this post should have been posted back in August.
Our good friends and their 3 kids traveled down from chilly San Francisco to blazing hot San Gabriel for a quick weekend visit. Just like every other weekend this past August and September the temperature was in the high 90's. We planned to do a lot of our activities indoors in the air conditioning. We started out Saturday morning at the Natural History Museum. All the boys enjoyed roaming around the museum looking at the cool exhibits. From there we headed to Jumpin' Jammin' where the boys had a great time running around and getting all their energy out. Sam and Matteo loved playing in the toddler section.  I loved watching them play and have fun.
Tim holding his Godson Sam.  I love Sam's cute little smile.
Matteo a bit frustrated about not making it up to the top...he eventually did and was all smiles!
 Matteo all smiles!

Luca and Trent. They were so excited to see eachother.
They had a great time playing together.
