Outstanding!

Trent received another OUTSTANDING report card.  He received all "O's" on his report card with just one "O-" pretty amazing if you ask me.  For his treat last time he picked Chuck E Cheese, this time he picked ice cream at 31 Flavors...yummy!
All smiles!
Trent had 3 Point Crunch a delicious chocolate delight.
 Yummy!
Tim and I are just so proud of Trent and how well he is doing in 2nd grade.  Along with his great report card he received an award for Good Citizenship and  Bible Memory.  Trent has scored perfect every week on his bible memory verses, amazing!

Spring Break

Trent's Spring Break started the Friday before Easter with only having to go to school until 11:45. The week leading up to Spring Break he would ask me everyday what we were going to do for Spring Break. He wanted details and wanted to make sure there was something fun planned for everyday. I assured him that we would have fun everyday.
On Monday, we slept in, which was a great start to the week. We had lunch at Bun-N-Burger, Trent played the Wii and then went to swim practice.
On Tuesday, we woke up early and headed to Disneyland where we would spend the next 2 days. Before going to the park we checked into our hotel and then took the shuttle to the park. We were staying at a hotel a few blocks from the park, I was a bit nervous about the timing of the shuttles, but it all worked out fine.
We are ready for our fun day!
Our first ride of the day was Pirates of the Caribbean. The line was longer than usual, 15 minutes and I could tell that the park was starting to get crowded.
 So excited!
After Pirates, Cindy had made it to the park, so we went to meet up with her.
Trent having a quick snack, while waiting to see Grandma.
It was about time for lunch, so we made our way to the Jedi Training Academy because Trent was contemplating participating. He decided not to participate, but while we ate he enjoyed watching the Jedi's battle Vader and Darth Maul.
Vader would have been afraid of Trent's awesome Jedi skills.
Next up was Big Thunder Mountain.  Trent and Cindy were all smiles before the ride took off.
As we were walking over to go on the Winnie the Pooh ride (yes Trent still loves that ride even at 7) Trent noticed that the canoe ride was open.  Neither of us had ever been, so after Pooh we went canoeing. I was a bit nervous because the canoe before us came in pretty rough and one of the employees handling the canoe almost fell into the water. I was kind of dreading having to row, but it all worked out fine and we didn't get too wet.
After canoeing around Pirate's Lair we took the raft over to the island.  Trent always likes to find the treasure and run around in the caves. After all the rowing and running around we needed a rest. So, Trent got some popcorn and we got on the train and took the train all around the park. After we made our way around the park we got off in Toon Town. Trent wanted to run around some more in Donald Duck's boat.
From Toon Town we went into Fanstay Land and went on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. Trent still had some popcorn left, which he happily ate while waiting in line.
From Fantasy Land we tried to make our way to Tomorrow Land, but the parade was going on, so it was a bit difficult. Trent wanted to take some pictures, so I left him be the photographer. He took pretty good pictures.
There was still so much left to do in the day. Our Fast Passes for Star Tours we ready to be used, so we made it across after the parade and went on Star Tours.
Almost ready to board the speeder.
After Star Tours, we headed over to CA Adventure to go on some more rides.  We took Grandma on the non-swinging gongola.
It was so windy so high up in the sky.
Trent got to ride on his favorite mammal...the seal.
Trent eating a yummy churro while waiting in line for Goofy's Flight School, which ended up closing down before we could take a ride.
A Boba Fett Gun...yes another gun for his collection.
Grandma and Trent on Flick's Flying Fun in Bug's Land.
We had a great day and we were happy to get into bed and get a good night's sleep for another day at Disneyland.
The forecast for Wednesday was rain, rain and more rain. Thankfully, it rained a lot during the night and when we woke the skies were for the most part clear.
To start our day off right we had breakfast delivered to our room.
What a treat!
We started the day out in Disneyland. We got into the park around 8:30 a.m. and it wasn't too crowded yet.
Trent's first ride of the day was the rockets.
We tried to get in as many rides as we could before the lines got too long.
Trent enjoying his ride on the Casey Jr. Train.
Great view of Matterhorn...too bad is was closed.
Jungle Cruise was up next.
Trent took some pictures of the animals.
We weren't staying the whole day at the parks, so around 11 we headed over to CA Adventure to go on a few more rides before we headed home.
While we were waiting in line for the zip line it rained just a bit.
We went on Soarin' Over California, the train in Bug's Land and saw the Muppets 3D movie and then headed home.
Trent is so excited for the new Cars exhibits to open in Summer.
After 2 great days at Disneyland Trent was one tired boy on the way home.  He still had swim practice and piano to go to in the afternoon, which is managed just fine.
On Thursday, it was a rest day for us. I got stuff done around the house, packed up for Oxnard and Trent played a lot of Wii, which is was so happy about.  Thursday evening we headed out to Oxnard where we would be until Sunday...a post soon to come about that.

Easter

On Saturday, we went to our church's annual egg hunt. This year the attendance was a bit disappointing and only boys showed up to hunt for eggs.  Even with the small attendance the kids still had fun getting as many eggs as they could. Before the egg hunt the kids played some games.
Meredith and Trent playing Jenga.
Trent showing off his nicely colored egg.
The boys are ready to hunt eggs.
 Trent loading up his bag.
Dale and Trent probably comparing who had the most eggs.
Trent's bag is pretty full...so full it broke.
On Easter, we went to church and then headed up to Tehachapi to spend the day with my Grandpa, parents, Todd, Ashley and Jake.
Dressed to impress.
The weather was beautiful in Tehachapi. It was a bit chilly in the shade, but warm in the sun. Trent and Jake had a great time hunting for eggs, which had quarters in them. Trent came home with $11.00, not bad.
It is usually windy in Tehachapi, so we brought up Trent's kite to fly. The boys had so much fun seeing how high it could go.
 Up, Up and Away.
Trent and Jake just watching the kite soar in the sky.
