Summertime!

This summer I have really tried to go with the flow rather than have a tight schedule. With my Type A personality it has been hard, but I have managed to create a loose schedule that we can all be happy with. Trent's main goal this summer has been to chill (his words). If I let him he would play on his iPad all day and watch movies. I have tried to create some structure for Trent, which would allow for his iPad time and also some reading (we don't want his brain turning to mush). I asked him today if he was having a good summer and he said yes...which made me happy.
We started off the summer without too many plans...we went to a few water parks, had lunch with friends, attended swim camp and then we went to Nashville and Maui. Since the beginning of summer, Trent has been coming to work with me and Terra has been going to school on those days, so it has been nice to have some one on one time with Trent. Trent has still had swim practice every afternoon, which has been good for him (he can't sit in his comfy chair all day). We opted out of the summer programs at Trent's school, but still wanted him to be challenged and Tim thought Trent getting certified in scuba diving would be the thing to do. Trent started the classes this week and he is really enjoying it.
Summer is winding down and 4 weeks from today he will be starting 6th grade (not ready for that), so we have a few more weeks to fill with going to a water park, the beach, chillin' on the pontoon, maybe Dave & Buster's again and celebrating his 11th birthday. And I'm sure more than enough time for Trent to "chill."  :)
Having fun at Dave & Buster's
In the afternoons while Trent is swimming you will usually find Terra and I (and sometimes Jake) at the park.
This is typical for these two...Trent on his iPad while watching a movie and Terra sitting on the table and soon to get into something she shouldn't.

Gettin' Our Country On!

We had been waiting seven months to go to this concert and we were so excited that the day had finally come. We had gotten Trent these tickets for Christmas (I guess a present for Tim and I too). We had never been to a concert at the Rose Bowl, so we were a little stressed about the parking situation. We took our chances with the shuttle from Old Town and it was the way to go. We found a great parking spot in the parking structure, not a long ride to the Rose Bowl and the best part was after the concert the shuttles were lined up and ready to take you to your car. From the time we left our seats at the concert we were home 30 minutes later. We are looking forward to the next country singer playing at the Rose Bowl.
On our way to see Jason Aldean and Kenny Chesney.
The view of the stage from our seats, which were in the shade the entire time we sat there.
Selfie time!
Enjoying the great music.
Cole Swindell
Brantley Gilbert
Jason Aldean. I'm not a huge fan, but he was amazing and I am now a fan.
54,000 fans!
Trent had a fan of his own. There were three girls in front of us and they thought Trent was so cute. Trent was a bit embarrassed by the attention.
Kenny Chesney!! Awesome as usual.
After Kenny's set, Jason Aldean joined him on stage for a few songs.
Great show! We had so much fun!
